Austrian MEP Lukas Mandal addressed the European Parliament discussing the draft report on Kosovo. During his speech he criticised the EU member countries for not delivering the promise on visa liberalisation for Kosovo and criticised the five EU member states which do not recognise the independence of Kosovo.
“The fact that Kosovo citizens are still not allowed to enter the EU without visas is absurd,” Mandl said adding that Kosovo has already fulfilled all the required criteria. “The European Commission has confirmed this. The European Parliament has continuously and clearly stated that it is in favour of visa free travel. Few governments of Member States are slowing and blocking [the process],” Mandl said.
“The few EU member states which have not recognised Kosovo, now is time to catch up. It is unbelievable hearing speeches on unity of free world against authoritarianism and violence on one hand and on the other hand non recognising the Republic of Kosovo,” he said. /GazetaExpress/
